Sheryl Lumb is Interaction & Interface Design's principal consultant with 30 years experience in multimedia, instructional design, computer consulting, usability and interface design.
She has a keen interest in strategic usability having been involved in the establishment of a number of usability teams for large corporations. While often having a usability management role, Sheryl has maintained a strong ‘hands on’ design and consulting focus and specializes in transactional web applications and call and contact centre environments. For the last twelve years, she has predominantly worked in the telecommunications and finance sectors primarily as Telstra’s Usability Architecture Manager, User Interaction & Validation Manager and as the senior usability consultant for Sensis’s voice systems area.
With post graduate qualifications in science, education and computing, Sheryl has been a full member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for 20 years and has been a corporate sponsor for the Computer Human Interaction Special Interest Group (CHISIG), an affiliate of the Ergonomics Society of Australia. She is interested in all aspects of a user’s interaction with systems, processes and their environment and considers interaction with a web site to be an important subset of the total user experience a customer assesses in their evaluation of a corporate’s offerings.
